I warmly welcome you to my blog.
My name is Beata. I am a Polish woman living on the beautiful island of Rhodes for 8 years.
I have a Master’s degree in tourism management and I am a licensed tourist guide with a Polish license.
From an early age I dreamed of working in tourism, and that’s what happened. However, I would never have thought that living and working in Rhodes I would discover my talent for photography.
The change of climate, environment, difficult life situation – work only for 6 months a year, led to me falling into depression, and the way out of this situation and a huge help in this difficult period for me turned out to be daily trips to watch sunrises and sunsets, which I captured on my simple Olimpus camera.
That is why my photography is full of emotions and the motto that always accompanies me is:
“Look with your eyes, Photograph with your heart”.
I hope that you will feel this heart for the island of Rhodes and its inhabitants – and also the islands of Symi and Chalki, which are close to my heart, in my photographic works.
Why did I decide to write a blog?
There are several reasons. First of all, after many difficult years for me here on the island, I feel that finally a better time has come for me and I can finally open up more and tell you about my adventure with photography on the Greek islands, and above all on Rhodes. I would really like you to get to know the corners of Greece with me, which are worth noticing from the point of view of a photographer. On my blog you will also find reports from my trips to the Greek islands. New plans are already in place and I am eagerly awaiting the moment when the season ends and I can sail to the island of Nisyros.
Above all, however, I would like to express myself more through words and not just images, as I have done so far on my Facebook page Betty Xidi Photography – Rhodes Through My Eyes.
So stay with me here please and listen how photography has changed my life, is still changing, and will continue to change, I am sure! And listen something about photography too.
