I had dreams of traveling since I was a little girl. I read travel books under the covers with a flashlight, because my parents told me to be in bed after 8:00 p.m.
I thought that my first trip abroad would be to Egypt to see the mummy of the shortest Pharaoh Tutankhamun in the Cairo Museum.
But it turned out differently!
One of my colleagues from work was going on vacation to Greece with a friend. However, her friend couldn’t go in the end and I was asked if I wanted to go on vacation to Greece!
Me? To Greece? After all, my first trip abroad was supposed to be Egypt! I read about it at night under the covers!
My friend pressed for a quick answer, and I, facing the possibility of fulfilling my dream at least halfway, finally agreed.
We flew to the Greek island of Zakynthos, where we had a great time, and I liked the country so much that I didn’t have to be persuaded to go the following year.
This time we chose the island of Rhodes, because the offer of the trip was the best at that time.
Hotel Cactus, top floor, large, glass windows and balcony doors, sea view and beautiful sunsets every evening…. And… I fell in love! But not with a Greek! With an island! 🙂
And so my unconditional love lasts to this day.
And the Greeks? Yes, they were always hanging around and taking pictures with us, blondes from distant countries. 😉
In the picture you can see my first photo taken in Rhodes from my hotel balcony – the photo of the Aquarium.
